Two options available to create your magic board!

Option 1:

Hand shape your board from a raw blank. With my help, you’ll hand shape your board from start to finish in one session typically lasting 5-6 hours. You’ll use all the hand tools including the planer, the way it was done for decades before computers and CNC cutting machines.

Option 2:

We design your board to your specifications using the Shape 3D software and pre-cut it on our CNC cutting machine. This option still requires about 3 hours of time in the shaping room tuning up your shape which you are very much involved in. This option allows for exact volume specifications and we can usually duplicate almost any shape out there. Your own design is saved allowing you to recreate the same board in the future or make modifications to it. This is generally how most surfboards are made these days.

Can I bring friends or family members to watch?

Absolutely! 

What can I expect when we’re finished?

A completed hand shaped board, ready for your signature and the glass shop. I will also take pictures of you shaping your board during the lesson and email them to you. 

What preparation is necessary before my lesson?

Just need to spend a few minutes on the phone with you and talk about the board you want to shape so I can get the right blank for you and offer any suggestions. I’ll also answer any questions you have at that time. 

What about the blank and glassing? Is that included in the price?

The blank and glassing are not included in the shape lesson price but most of the time your final cost is less than a new board from a board shop, plus you shaped it! I’m happy to answer any questions you have about these costs

Can we shape an epoxy?

Yes!

What about custom logos?

If you have a logo or picture you want to laminate into your board I can have it printed for you. I just need your digital art to get started
